Inua Jamii cash transfer arrears amounts to 166 million in Mombasa County- says children director

Inua jamii cash transfer stakeholders in Mombasa County are calling on all beneficiaries to open accounts in order to receive their six months arrears.

Speaking to Pwani Media Network in Mombasa County director of Children Phillip Nzenge said the money will be wired directly into the accounts of the beneficiaries.

He says the total amount which has accumulated to over 166 million for the past six months targets 13,840 beneficiaries in Mombasa County.

“The amount accumulates to 166 million in Mombasa County. I want to assure everyone that no one will be left out in this process” Nzenge noted

Nzenge says that the program has a total of 846 people living with disabilities 6,046 orphans and the vulnerable and 6,948 elderly adding that every beneficiary will receive ksh 12,000.

“We have a total of 13640 beneficiaries in Mombasa County” he noted

The director says the accounts will reduce congestion in bank collection centers and combating by some of the beneficiaries of the program.

He said assured Kenyans that no beneficiary will be left out in the entire process.

“He says the process has already begun in all the areas of Mombasa County.
We have already begun this process. We started this week” he explained

The government has signed a deal with four banks that have a network all over the country to facilitate the cash transfer without transaction fee that include: Cooperative bank Equity Bank KCB and Post Bank.

Cash transfer program is part of the big four agenda which is anchored on the pillars of manufacturing universal health care affordable housing and food security.
