Education stakeholders in partnership with Dream Achievers Youth Organization (DAYO) have called on a joint approach in order to bring up a morally upright young generation.

According to the stakeholders value based education plays a critical role in shaping up the behaviors of young generation people.

“There is a need for stakeholders to synergize. We need to pool together as stakeholders if we are to achieve our goal” one of the stakeholders who spoke on condition of anonymity explained

Speaking to Pwani Media Network in Mombasa on Saturday Dream Achievers Youth Organization programs coordinator Enos Opiyo says stakeholders play a fundamental role in imparting proper mannerisms among the youths.

He said there is need for a joint collaboration amongst the various stakeholders in advancing value based education.

“These stakeholders are major contributors towards the behaviors of our children. They play a crucial role” the activist stated

According to him the family being a basic unit takes the larger share in the inculcation of positive morals among young people.

The school head insists that there is need for the education ministry to deploy more officials on the ground to train teachers on the implementation of value based education.

“Stakeholders play an active role in shaping up the morals of our children” she noted

Mohammed Swaleh, who sits at the Sacred Heart Board of Management said concerted efforts amongst the stakeholders is a key in advancing VBE in schools.

He is of the opinion that young people should adhere to religious teachings and practices.

“We need to combine our efforts. VBE will only be realized if we come together as stakeholders” the BoM official noted

He further says leadership is a critical element in ensuring that young people grow morally upright.

“Proper morals and values starts at home. Parents should impart their kids with the right knowledge” she said

She also called on the entire schools leadership; including school BoM’s, head teachers and teachers to provide a culturally disciplined environment to protect them (kids) from indulging in unethical issues.
