Kilifi county Senatorial hopeful faults incumbent senator

By Peter Kombe Kilifi county senatorial hopeful Ben Kai has faulted the incumbent senator on claims of failing to address the land question in the county. Speaking in Jilore and Kakuyuni Kai claims the county lacks proper leadership to speaherhed development in the area. According to him, for many years the land question has been used for political gain amongst the political elites. “Politicinas have for many years used the land issue in this county to gain political mileage,” he noted However, he said should he be voted in as the next senator the problem will be sorted once and for all. At the same time while speaking at a different political rally kai called on the need to address the issue of rampant youth aunemplument. The senatorial hopeful says 70 pecent of the countys population consists of youths aged below and there fore the need to addres the same. He pointed out “There is an urgent need to address the issue of ramapant unemeployment. This countys population consists of youths below 30 years,”. Kai says there is need to fast track the revival of the cashewnut and establishment of the coconut factories ina abid to address the land question. “Mnazi and cashwenut factories should be revived in aorder to create jobs,” he said. He vowed to work together with the relenavt stakeholders in oerder to empower youths in the county. The senatorial seat has attracted various politicians in the county, including Ben Kai, Fikirini Jacobs among others. Kai an accountant by profession was appointed as the chief officer Finance and Economic Planning in August 2013. He has alsi aided in formulating and implementing financial policies in Kilifi county. He has also served as head of finance at Mombasa Water and Sewerage Company and Express Kenya as the Assistanc Chief Accountant. END…

Invest more in reproductive health budget- activists petition Mombasa county government

By M warandu Randu Human rights crusaders championing for youth rights have called on the Mombasa county government to pump in more funds in the health kitty in order to boost reproductive health amongst the youth. Lobbyists accuse government of delaying launch of 2018 School Health Policy

The 2018 SHP according to the activists is ready for a mega launch after thorough review by both state and non-state actors.
