Over 58,000 jobs will be created after completition of Dongo Kundu project- Mombasa senator tells youths

Mombasa senator Mohammed Faki is calling on the youth across the county to apply for all job opportunities advertised by government.

According to him, the Dongo Kundu by pass once completed will employ over 58,000 locals within and without the sub county.

The senator wants youth to engage in income generating activities as a way of eradicating radicalism and violent extremism.

“Dongo Kundu project will create opportunities for locals in this area. Youths should come out and apply for these jobs. Apply for all sorts of jobs,” he said

Speaking at a recent Port function in Mombasa Faki thanked youths especially Likoni sub county for showing up in large numbers during the application of the census exercise.

The senator reiterated his commitment in addressing some of the teething challenges facing youths within the county.

“My office is committed to ensure that the challenges of joblessness is adequately addressed. I want also to thank youths in Likoni who flocked in large numbers during the census exercise,” he noted

Meanwhile Likoni sub county Youth coordinator Shekuwe Naaman said the only way to combat insecurity within the sub county is to create job opportunities amongst the youth.

He said he is committed to ensure that youth stay informed at all times about job opportunities.

“If we want to fight insecurity then let us go out and apply for those jobs out there. I will ensure that you get all fast hand information on jobs available in the job market” Shekuwe said

The coordinator wants urged youth to work hard and apply for and engage in income generating activities.

 “We need to work together so that we can solve some of the challenges that we all face as Kenyans,” he explained.
