Education stakeholders in partnership with Dream Achievers
Youth Organization (DAYO) have called on a joint approach in order to bring up a
morally upright young generation.
According to the stakeholders value based education plays
a critical role in shaping up the behaviors of young generation people.
“There is a need for stakeholders to synergize. We need
to pool together as stakeholders if we are to achieve our goal” one of the stakeholders
who spoke on condition of anonymity explained
Speaking to Pwani Media Network in Mombasa on Saturday
Dream Achievers Youth Organization programs coordinator Enos Opiyo says stakeholders
play a fundamental role in imparting proper mannerisms among the youths.
He said there is need for a joint collaboration
amongst the various stakeholders in advancing value based education.
“These stakeholders are major contributors towards
the behaviors of our children. They play a crucial role” the activist stated
According to him the family being a basic unit takes
the larger share in the inculcation of positive morals among young people.

Meanwhile Mvita Primary School head Nura Fuad said stakeholders
need to actively play their role in the advancement of value based education.
The school head insists that there is need for the education
ministry to deploy more officials on the ground to train teachers on the implementation
of value based education.
“Stakeholders play an active role in shaping up the
morals of our children” she noted
Mohammed Swaleh, who sits at the Sacred Heart Board
of Management said concerted efforts amongst the stakeholders is a key in
advancing VBE in schools.
He is of the opinion that young people should adhere
to religious teachings and practices.
“We need to combine our efforts. VBE will only be realized
if we come together as stakeholders” the BoM official noted
He further says leadership is a critical element in
ensuring that young people grow morally upright.

their children is concerned.

She argues that children upbringing starts right at
the home level urging parents to impart the right knowledge in order for the
kids to grow morally upright.
“Proper morals and values starts at home. Parents should
impart their kids with the right knowledge” she said
She also called on the entire schools leadership; including
school BoM’s, head teachers and teachers to provide a culturally disciplined
environment to protect them (kids) from indulging in unethical issues.

She adds “Young people should stick to religious
teachings and shun from unethical misdeeds”
The forum organized by Dream Achievers Youth Organization
(DAYO) brought together representatives of school heads, Board of management
and teachers from five schools in Mombasa County.
The schools that will benefit from the VBE program include:
Kongowea Makande, Sacred Heart, Majengo and Mvita primary schools.
The Value based education program is funded by Aga Khan
Foundation.
