Likoni DCC Eric Wamulevu addressing youth leaders at Anika Centre recently |
While speaking to youth leaders in Dongo Kundu organized
by Manyatta Youth Entertainment recently the DCC said citizens have an
exclusive right to say no to corruption.
He said “If there is any police officer that you
suspect to be corrupt, give me a report. Our mandate is to protect you as
citizens.”
The DCC argues that citizens, including the youth should
oppose any move to suppress them.
He further wants the youth to take up their responsibilities and avoid engaging negative atrocities.
“You should be at the forefront in fighting for your
constitutional rights,”
The DCC says youths have dozens of opportunities that
they can venture in and invest.
He however noted that the society has developed a
tendency of accusing the police.
“There are many donors out there. You have the
opportunity to invest. There is this tendency of citizens accusing the police,”
he said
