Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader Dr Alfred Mutua has urged Wiper Prty leader Kalonzo Musyoka to back up his 2022 presidential bid.

The Machakos county boss says it is evident that Kalonzo has shown no interest in the top job.

He added “I want Kalonzo to back me up taking into consideration the fact that I’m the only politician from the Eastern region that has shown an interest at this job”

Mutua said Kalonzo’s call for constitutional reforms geared towards extending President Uhuru’s term depicts that he has no interest for the top job.

“By saying that he is supporting the extension of Uhuru’s presidency that means he will not be in the race. Then let him support me” the Machakos County boss said

Speaking to journalist in Mombasa on Sunday Mutua pointed that his party will pronounce its stand  on whether or not to reform the constitution in the next two to three weeks.

He however said the party does not support extending the presidency but rather glued on transformative and all-inclusive governance.

“We shall have a conference as a party in the next three weeks and give out our contribution on the same” he noted

The county boss is opposed to politicians showing an interest in changing the constitution to gain political mileage.

He further warned a section of politicians for what he termed as playing flip flop politics.

Mutua says Maendeleo Chapa Chap Party advocates for an all-inclusive government which gives an opportunity to all her citizens.

Meanwhile the Machakos county boss stressed that the party is against a government that clings to power adding that such governments are often dictatorial and tyrannical.

Dr Alfred Mutuaa was the Kenyan government spokesman before resigning to run for the office of County Governor.
