Business to government B2G will enhance feedback mechanism-say County Officials

The department of Trade Tourism and Investment in Mombasa county has piloted the Mombasa Business to Government B2G feedback system geared towards improving the quality of government to business delivery.

According to senior departmental officials, the system will enable businesses to relay feedback to the government which will in turn collect analyze and respond to queries.

Addressing stakeholders in Mombasa during an awareness forum at the Governors premises on Thursday Chief Officer in charge of Trade Tourism and Investment Abdulwahab Mubarak said the system set for a mega launch on Friday is the first of its kind throughout the country.

He says the system will solve the challenges of delays in feedback by relevant county officials.

"We  are set to launch this service on Saturday at Fort Jesus. through this platform we shall be able to respond to queries from both the public and the business community" he noted

The Chief officer however admitted that there has been challenges in the delivery of information by county official and there fore the need to solve the same.

He said they have been receiving complaints from members of the business community and the general citizenry on the conveyance of information.

"We have received complaints from the public regarding delays in responding to information. I believe that this system will solve most of these challenges" Mr. Mubarak stated

Meanwhile County executive in charge of Trade Tourism and Investment Fauz Rashid says the system will ensure timely responses by county officials in the different departments.

"This system will ensure that county officials respond timely to information from the public"  he said


He said some of the services accommodated in the Mombasa B2G system include among others the single business permit, public health, fire services and liquor licensing.


Mombasa County Public Relations Officer Gloria Gwaro said the B2G system is geared at enhancing efficiency in the delivery of services.

Ms. Gloria says the service can be accessed by logging onto www.huduma.mombasa.co.ke or through the phone *451#.

"We want to ensure that there is efficient delivery of services  to the citizens. One can access the service through the phone by logging onto *451#" 

According to the chief officer, Mr. Abdulwahab, the program was funded by the World Bank through the Kenya Investment Climate Program 2 and the Global Regulatory Practices Program.
