Jamii ya watu wanaoishi na ulemavu Mombasa yapinga hatua ya kuwatathmini kila baada ya miaka mitano

Jamii ya watu wanaoishi na ulemavu kaunti ya Mombasa wamepinga hatua ya kuwatathmini inayotekelezwa kila baada ya miaka mitano na baraza la kitaifa la walemavu, National Council for People Living with Disability (NCPWD).

Akiongea na wanahabari Lucy Chesi kutoka bunge la walemavu kaunti ya Mombasa ametaja hatua hiyo kama dhulma dhidi ya walemavu.

Amesistiza kuwa ni sharti baraza hilo liwatathmini walemavu kote nchini mara moja tu na wala sio kila baada ya miaka mitano.

Chesi aidha amesistiza kuwa wameanzisha miradi ya kuwawezesha walemavu ili wapate kujinufaisha kiuchumi.

Wakati huo huo, Charity Chahasi mkurugenzi wa shirika la kijamii la Tunaweza Women with Disabilty lililoko Ziwa la Ng'ombe amelitaka baraza la walemavu nchini kuheshimu  haki za walemavu kwa kuzingatia mfumo wa sheria nchini.

Amelishtumu vikali baraza hilo kwa kile anachodai ni kukiuka haki za walemavu sawia na kuwadhulumu walemavu nchini.

Hata hivyo amesema kuna haja ya baraza hilo kutafuta njia mbadala ya kuwatathmini walemavu ikiwemo kuwapa vitambulisho vya kudumu wala sio baada ya miaka mitano.

Wamewataka walemavu kaunti ya Mombasa kujitokeza  kwa wingi ili kupigania haki zao katika jamii.
