Speaking to the press in Mombasa at the Tononoka Ground officer in charge of the recruitment exercise Lieutenant Colonel Joseph Nzioka said not of them failed to produce their original school certificates.

He cited poor health as one pointer of the recruits being locked out in the recruitment exercise.

“Some of them failed because of their medical concerns. Others on the other hand could not make it because they lacked some of the basics such as school certificates” he noted

He however pointed out that the number of youth who came out for the exercise has increased compared to the previous exercises.

Nzioka said the exercise was fairly done to give all Kenyans an opportunity to serve in the forces.
