Kilifi County Governor Amason Kingi has called on
for an immediate investigation into the shooting of former Kilifi county

solution into the issue.
He accused the police on claims of laxity in conducting
investigations into such incidences.
“We have to get a lasting solution into these cases. It has become a trend, once someone is attacked the
police normally say they are doing investigations, but it takes too long”
he noted
The governor directed that all the flags within Kilifi County must remain half mast till the former DG is laid to rest.
He said this is an honor to him following Kamto’s
contribution in the county.
“I have directed all flags in Kilifi County to remain
half mast till my former DG is laid to rest. This is an honor to him for his service
in the county” he noted
At the same time Mombasa county commissioner Evans Achoki
says the county director of criminal investigation has launched investigations into
the matter.
He said the motive of the killing is yet to be
established.
“The DCI Mombasa County has launched investigations
into the matter. Do not speculate but rather wait patiently as the DCI does his
job” the Mombasa county commissioner said
Achoki however urged Kenyans to stop speculating but rather pave way for an idepth investigation.
He said the shoot to kill gunmen will be disclosed
as soon as the Mombasa county DCI officer completes his findings.
“No stone shall be left un-turned. We have to get
into the depth of the issue” he said
Meanwhile, Kamtos wife, Fauzia Kamto said her husband attacked by unknown people while entering
into his Nyali residence.
She said the incident happened at around 4 am.
“He was attacked while getting into our residence, she stated
