30 groups expected to benefit from youth and women training organized by Mombasa senator Faki at Dongo Kundu

The office of the senator Mombasa County has organized a two days youth, women and disabled training at Mwangala Dongo Kundu in Likoni Sub County.

The training falls in two slots, the first one between 24 and 25 July while the second slot is slated for August 7 and 8 at Anika Centre Dongo Kundu.

All the trainings begin from 9.00am to 3.45pm.

Through the senators Likoni sub county coordinator Shekuwe N Suweta the training will ensure that locals gain skills relevant to the job market.

According to him the only way to ensure that communities are empowered is to offer them with the necessary skills.

“The training will equip the locals on proper book keeping and resource mobilization,” he said.

Suweta says the project aims at equipping the beneficiaries with knowledge in book keeping and mobilization of resources.

Meanwhile Mombasa county youth coordinator Hassan urged youth to form youth groups so that they can access county government tenders.

He called on the political leaders to come up with programs that will empower local communities.

“I appeal to the youth to form groups. It is only through these groups that they will be able to get tenders from both the county government and the national government,” he noted.

Manyatta Youth Entertainment executive director Nicholas Songora says the organization is open to strategic partnership and collaborations with envisioned leaders.

He insists that MAYE opens doors to focused leaders with the ability to distinguish between politics and development.

“We are open to strategic partnership as MAYE, I think the most important thing is to have leaders who can separate politics from development,” he said.

He thanked the office of the senator for the initiative saying it will not only empower local communities but also uplift their living standards.

Locals from Mwangala, Dongo Kundu, Kaya Mtongwe, Mbuta, Tembo and Siji villages are expected to benefit from the project.
