The forum organized by MAYE in partnership with Forum SYD sought to promote resilience against violence and conflicts among youths within the sub county. There was applause as youths and other like-minded stakeholders entertained the public with skillfully dramatized skits, dances, spoken word and encouraging speeches. Dressed on white t shirts the youths started their procession from Madafuni Estate Maganyakulo ending their walk at Kombani social hall ground. Addressing the media in a Mombasa hotel on Thursday during the launch of a peace ambassador task force convened by HAKI Africa the spokesperson said issues of forceful disappearance will be a thing of the past if communities embrace the initiative. The spokesperson was responding to the question of forceful disappearance cases in the Coast region asked by one of the activists. According to human rights defenders such cases have escalated in the recent past.  “Rights have limits. It is the duty of the police to protect life and property. Again it is important that we all promote community policing as a way of beefing up security,”

According to him, the Dongo Kundu by pass once completed will employ over 58,000 locals within and without the sub county. According to them, parents play an active role in ensuring that children stick to moral integrity. Seven female teams in Likoni sub county to participate in historical football tournament

The tournament that brings together a total of seven women teams will be held at Likoni stadium. The tournament does not only seek to identify talents among girls but also address the issue of teenage pregnancy within the sub county.
