Want to escape eternal wrath? Do not ignore teaching on dead –Islamic faithfuls advise

By Peter Kombe

Islam faithfuls have called on Islamic followers to ignore not teachings on the dead disclosing that doing such might lead to eternal wrath.

Addressing the media in Mombasa on Saturday, Lubna Nassir founder of the mama beauty foundation said washing dressing and of the dead is anchored on basic Islamic teachings and principles.

She disclosed that the teachings are equally significant to every firm believer of the Islamic faith.

“Religion demands that we bury the dead with total respect. Our Prophet Muhammad directs us to do so” Mama Beauty said

Mama Lubna urged Islamic faithfuls to refrain from doing evil and turn to good deeds.
She says every living being will at one time give and account of all the deeds whether bad or good.

“We shall all give account of all our deeds whether bad or evil. I urge my fellow faithfuls to stick to what is right” she said

Respect for the dead
She further added that the living must accord the dead their due and final respect including among others cleaning, dressing and perfuming the dead.

Rukia Omar, an Islamic tutor advises that the dead should be bathed, dressed and perfumed by close relatives.

She says close relatives should dress and apply perfume the dead, this is to confine the secrets of the deceased to the household.

“We should accord the dead their due respect. This is their final journey and religion demands us that we accord them their due respect” Miss Rukia insisted

The tutor argues that perfumes applied to the dead appease them (dead) and thus a feel of comfortability as a result of the pleasant scent.

Rukia says religion demands that both black and white robes can be used to cleanse the dead.

“If this person used to take shower, dress and apply expensive perfume when he she was alive we should also do the same even when they pass on” she noted

On the question of who is to pray for the dead, Ms Rukia advises that men should pray for their own while women should do the same too.

Iman Said, a Bondeni resident admitted that thousands of Islam followers are ignorant of the teachings on the dead.

She says currently some of the teachings contradict Islam religion.

“Today’s teachings were so beneficial to me. Most of the people are ignorant of this”

Ms Iman however admits that most of the Islamic faithfuls hire outsiders to bury their own dead which is contrary to Prophet Muhammad teachings on the dead.
