Digital platform will eliminate revenue leakages- says Mombasa County DG Dr William Kingi

Mombasa county government has officially launched the e- parking platform geared towards improving efficiency in payment of parking charges.

According to Mombasa County Deputy Governor Dr William Kingi the service will also fulfill the county’s dream of improving service delivery.

“The launch of the e-parking marks a mile stone in the evolution of the county government services in Mombasa County” he pointed out

Speaking to the press in Mombasa after the launch Mombasa county Deputy Governor Dr William Kingi said the platform will not only facilitate payment of parking charges but also ensure integrity of the payment system.

The DG called on motorists to embrace the digitization services undertaken by the county.

“Our quest the continuous improvement in service delivery in Mombasa County is laudable and delighting” he said

Dr. Kingi noted that there is a need for a feedback mechanism from the users in order to further improve the system.

“We need your back. This will make us improve our services as a county government” Dr Kingi noted

Meanwhile, Mombasa County Secretary Francis Thoya reiterated the county’s commitment towards improving of services to the residents.

He says that most of the services provided by the county government have been automated to enhance efficiency.

“This is not the first automated service. There are several others. This is to ensure that residents enjoy service delivery” he said

Mr. Thoya however insisted that there is need for the consumers of the product to give back their feedback for improvement of the service.

“Of importance we need your feedback so that we can improve on these services. What I want to believe is that there is still room for improvement” The County secretary insisted

The DG said “the adoption of the digital technology will eliminate revenue leakages”

Dr Kingi added that the adoption of the revenue stream has seen the county increase the share of local revenue from 2.4 billion in 2015 to 3.2 billion in 2018.

“The adoption of this technology will eliminate some of the revenue. We are constantly trying to improve the range and quality of services to Mombasa residents” Dr Kingi outlined

In order for one to access the service,s/he has just to click a button and key in *282# and follow the steps to the later.

Mombasa County follows in the line of some of the counties that has embraced digital technology to facilitate service delivery.
